At Hollybank, the relationships we build with organisations in our local community are extremely important to us and we’re always very grateful for any donations we receive that help to put smiles on the faces of the children, young people and adults who live here.
We were recently visited by St Mary’s Church’s outreach project who delivered lovely hampers full of goodies and some beautiful children’s books for our residential homes. Their outreach project provides hampers for people in need and to those with health issues, such as the people who live here at Hollybank.
We were delighted to discover that the hampers were jam-packed with story books for everyone to enjoy. Storytelling is really important here at Hollybank. We use it as an opportunity to learn new Makaton words and pull together ‘story sacks’ full of props to help our children, young people and adults follow the stories and develop their fine motor skills at the same time.
Support like this from within the community makes such a difference to us and we’d like to say a huge thank you to St Marys Church.
