Temporary Occupational Therapist

Hollybank Trust is a charitable organisation providing Therapy, Residential, Nursing Care & Support to people with complex physical needs and associated learning disabilities. The Occupational Therapy Team is based at our main site in Mirfield, West Yorkshire as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team which includes Teachers, Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Nurses, Enrichment & Social Care colleagues. All our services are unique, being tailored to suit the needs of young people and adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities and physical disabilities, and our teams work hard to ensure that the standards of care and support are consistent and of high quality.

This role is a temporary post (9-12 months dependent on start date) to support the remainder of the Occupational Therapy team while a member of the team is on maternity leave. This role will primarily focus on completion of Risk Assessments & supporting the team with implementing a digital care system across the trust. Dependent on the needs of the service; this role may also include undertaking person-centred assessments for specialist equipment to support the independence and safety of children / young people / adults. You may also have the opportunity to assess sensory processing difficulties & advise on support for behaviours that challenge, working in collaboration with staff across the trust. This is in partnership with completing task analysis’ for increasing participation in meaningful activities of daily living including self-care & leisure to contribute to their development and personalised care plans.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated clinician to work primarily within our adult residential services and complement our professional and supportive team. The role may also include working within children’s residential services & school as required by the needs of the service. You will be self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team. You will receive support from a team of experienced & well-established colleagues.

We have a genuine commitment to training and development and post holders are expected to develop themselves professionally in line with both current and future service needs and requirements. The successful candidate will have access to regular supervision and training and be encouraged to participate in a variety of development opportunities.

In addition to our main site in Mirfield we also have a small number of homes in West & South Yorkshire which you will be required to visit occasionally therefore it is a requirement that the applicant holds a full driving licence and is a car driver.
